Green Gravel Coalition

To devise and implement Green Gravel Standards for aggregate

production, and implement in the Building Codes and Standards, Official
Plans, Provincial Policy Statement and all future urban and rural planning.
The standard will be based on the experience with lumbering standards i.e.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and should permeate development all the way down to governmental, construction industry and retail procurement.

PERL

Protecting Escarpment Rural Lands, is a citizen’s coalition enhancing Burlington’s Niagara Escarpment and rural land in the Region of Halton. Since 2005 the citizen volunteer group has been working to save the Mount Nemo plateau from being hollowed out by a huge below-water-table quarry proposal.

CONE

Coalition On the Niagara Escarpment, is a coalition of 30 environmental organizations and hundreds of individual citizens. It was formed in 1978 and has worked consistently for the protection of the Escarpment and its many values to Ontario society (from CONE website). CONE has concerns about the expansion of Dufferin Aggregates' Halton Quarry.

Coalition of Concerned Citizens, is committed to ensuring good land use planning in Caledon - particularly associated with defeating the Rockfort quarry application.

COPE
Citizens Opposed to Paving the Escarpment, is a group of people who have come together to fight the development and destruction of the Niagara Escarpment.

Conserve Our Rural Environment, is a Mono Mulmur Citizen's Coalition opposing "a 200 acre gravel pit in the Christmas tree farm across from the Little Tract Forest Preserve on Airport Road."

FORCE
Friends of Rural Communities and the Environment, is a citizen-based advocacy group that has formed to protect our local communities and environment and to oppose the proposed Lowndes aggregate operation on 11th Concession East.

PALS
Preservation of Agricultural Lands Society, is a volunteer group dedicated to preserving the unique fruit lands and the agricultural industry in Niagara.
